Prof. Lynne BOWKER is Full Professor at the School of Translation and Interpretation at the University of Ottawa, where she teaches and conducts research on computer-aided and machine translation. In 2020, she was elected to the Royal Society of Canada (Canada’s national academy) in recognition of her research contributions to the fields of translation and translation technologies. In the 2022/2023 academic year, she is a NAWA Visiting Researcher in the Scholarly Communication Research Group at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland working on a project to combine plain language and machine translation. Her most recent book, De-mystifying translation: Introducing Translation to non-translators (2023, Routledge), is available in open access.
