Rachel Lung is Professor and Head of Department of Translation at Lingnan University. She received her doctoral degree in English Language and Linguistics from the University of Essex in England. Her research interest is in the historical study of interpreting and historical conceptualizations of interpreting in China. She published a research monograph titled Interpreters in Early Imperial China in 2011, and her research articles appeared in various international translation and interpreting journals such as Babel, Perspectives, TTR, Meta, Interpreting, and Interpreting and Society.
