There are three types of programmes/activities we have established for our students. Each and every one of the students is encouraged to engage in at least one of these out-side Hong Kong experiences during your university life here. For further details about the programmes and the contact persons, please see below.
1. Credit-bearing (Semester-long) Exchange
Students who wish to spend a semester in a tertiary institution of China or of an overseas country can approach the personnel in the Academic Exchange and Collaboration Office (AECO) to obtain detailed information on the list of partner institutions we have and of student exchange sponsorship and funds as well as the application procedures. The contact addresses of AECO are:

| Tel: | 2766 5379 / 2766 5097 |
| Website: | www.polyu.edu.hk/~aeco/public/eexc_outbound.htm |
Once the application for the semester-long exchange has been approved by AECO, the student can approach the student exchange officer in the academic department for advice on credit earning and credit transfer of the subjects (from the destination university to PolyU). For credit transfer to CBS-coded subjects, please contact Dr. Doreen Wu, email: ctdwu@inet.polyu.edu.hk, ext. 7441, room AG520a. 2. Summer Putonghua Study
Every year, we organize a 4-week summer course of Putonghua with Renmin University (中國人民大學), Beijing. The course provides students with a good chance of not only enhancing their Putonghua but also of understanding language use and the related cultural practice in the context of Beijing, China. For further information and application procedure for this summer programme of Putonghua, please contact Dr. Doreen Wu, email: ctdwu@inet.polyu.edu.hk, ext. 7441, room AG520a.
3. Short Study Trip to Pearl River Delta
Every year, the department organizes at least one study trip which takes students to visit some enterprises and corporate institutions in the Pearl River Delta, Guangdong, China. The trip aims to provide the students with more exposure to China and further knowledge about the corporate cultures as well as the societal and economic development of the regions in China that are close to Hong Kong.
