Introduction


The Association was first established in 1997. Its objectives are:
  • to provide opportunities for our alumni to exchange views and share experiences;
  • to keep our alumni informed of the latest developments in our department;
  • to serve as a mechanism through which alumni can maintain close relationships with their alma mater;
  • to promote and coordinate social activities among the association’s members;
  • to encourage co-operation among the members and those of other alumni associations of the university, as well as the Federation of the Hong Kong PolyU Alumni Associations.

Membership


All students who have attended a programme in the Department of Chinese & Bilingual Studies (formerly known as the Department of Chinese, Translation & Interpretation) are eligible to join this Association. Those who have joined the Association will automatically become a member of the Federation of the Hong Kong PolyU Alumni Associations. Executive Committee of the Association


The Association is run by its Executive Committee whose members are elected in a General Meeting for a term of office of two years. Executive Committees of past years have been formed by alumni of the MA in Chinese Linguistics, BA (Hons) in Translation & Chinese and BA (Hons) in Language & Communication respectively. The Executive Committee for 2011-13 was elected on 12 June 2011. The composition is as follows:
  • President: Ms Samantha Chow (graduate of BA (Hons) in Translation & Chinese)
  • Vice-President: Mr Ben Chan (graduate of BA (Hons) in Language & Communication)
  • Secretary: Mr Norman Kwok (graduate of BA (Hons) in Language & Communication)
  • Financial Secretary : Ms Jocelyn Chiu (graduate of BA (Hons) in Translation & Chinese)
