2009 Annual PolyU Faculty of Humanities Postgraduate Research Symposium
Call for Papers
2009 Annual PolyU Faculty of Humanities Postgraduate Research Symposium will be held on March 13, 2009 at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. All current postgraduate students in any of the Humanities departments of any university in Hong Kong are cordially invited to attend and present papers at this event, which is organized and sponsored by the Faculty of Humanities, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and will be held in conjunction with the Sixth LSHK Postgraduate Research Forum on Linguistics on March 14-15, 2009.

Academic Areas:
applied linguistics, bilingual communication in corporate context, Chinese culture (including Chinese philosophy, religions, history and civilization), Chinese linguistics, English language studies, Japanese language studies, language teaching and testing, teaching Chinese as a second language, translation studies, and other areas in Humanities
Presentation Arrangements:
- oral presentation: 20 minutes for each oral presentation, plus 10 minutes for discussion, or
- poster presentation
Abstract Submission Deadline (extended): March 4, 2009 (Wednesday)
Abstract Requirements:
- Abstracts should be written either in English or in Chinese.
- Each submission should be an abstract of one page, excluding references.
- Format: 1 inch margin using 12 font, Times New Roman (English), 新細明體 (traditional Chinese), or SimSun (simplified Chinese).
- Submissions are limited to a maximum of one individual or one joint abstract per author.
- Please send two SOFT copies as e-mail attachments to polyu.symposium2009@gmail.com, one with the title of the paper, name(s) of the author(s) as well as affiliation(s), and the other without the author's information. Please name your file the same as the title of your paper.
- Please list the academic area of the paper and the author's name in the "subject" of the email.
- Please list (1) title of the paper, (2) name(s) of the author(s), (3) affiliation(s), (4) mailing address(es) and (5) email address(es) in the e-mail.
