The Testing Unit is responsible for developing and implementing tests and assessment tools in relation to Chinese language proficiency. The tests that have been developed and introduced include: Putonghua Proficiency Test (Putonghua Shuiping Kaoshi, PSK) which is formally recognized by the State Language Commission, and Written Chinese Proficiency Test (Shumian Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi, SHSK). All UGC-funded undergraduate students are required to take these two tests before graduation.
