Since its establishment with an endowment fund donated by Wei Lun Foundation in 1989, the Centre for Translation Studies has been conducting academic and professional research in translation studies and related areas. It has funded research projects, academic conferences and visitors, and publication activities related to translation studies and the profession. During the past decade, the Centre has also been providing translation/interpreting and consultation services to the local community as well as fellow departments within the University, and has run short training courses of translation.
One of the latest developments of the Centre is the training course for the China Aptitude Test for Translators and Interpreters (CATTI).
