Professional Recognition:

According to the usual practice for a new programme in this field, the Master of Speech Therapy Programme (MST) will seek professional recognition from the Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists (HKAST) and international professional bodies from countries such as Ireland, UK, Canada, Australia or US after the programme launches.

The MST programme was successfully validated in late September 2012. The validation panel involved professors from the university as well as the representative from the Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists (HKAST) and an international expert on learning disabilities from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada. The MST programme has received supports from Guangdong Disabled Person's Federation and local NGOs such as Council of Non-profit Making Organizations for Pre-primary Education (CNOPE), SAHK and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.
